Keeping your codes and your account safe

An unredeemed code works for whoever enters it first. Practical steps for protecting your codes, your Faralaforge account and yourself from common scams.

An unredeemed game code works for whoever enters it first. Platforms cannot tell whether the person redeeming it is the person who paid, and once it is redeemed it cannot be taken back. That makes a code worth looking after in the same way you would look after a gift card, until the moment it is on your account.

Looking after your codes

  • Redeem codes soon after you receive them. Until a code is redeemed, it is at risk anywhere it is written down or shared.
  • Keep codes off screen. Codes are masked on your order until you choose to reveal them. If you stream or share your screen, use the copy button rather than revealing the code, and avoid showing your order page or emails on stream.
  • Do not post codes publicly, including in group chats, forums or social media posts, even partly. People do try to guess the missing characters.
  • Send codes privately when buying for someone else, and only to that person.

Where your codes come from

Keys are delivered exclusively via email and your account dashboard. We do not send codes through social media, messaging apps or chat servers, and nobody from Faralaforge will contact you there offering codes or asking for payment.

We will also never ask you for your password, or for your full card number or security code, by email, by message or by phone. If someone claiming to be us asks for any of these, it is not us. Please forward the message to [email protected].

Before signing in or paying, check that the address in your browser is faralaforge.com. Lookalike addresses with an extra word or a swapped letter are a common trick.

Securing your Faralaforge account

  • Use a strong password you do not use anywhere else. If another site you use is breached, a reused password is the first thing attackers try. A password manager makes this easy.
  • Keep your email account secure. Password reset links are sent there, so whoever controls your email can control your account. Turn on two-step verification with your email provider.
  • Sign out on shared computers. Use the sign-out option in the account menu when you are done.
  • Change your password at any time from Account, then Security.

Every new account has to verify its email address before it can sign in, and repeated failed sign-in attempts are limited, which makes guessing passwords impractical.

If you forget your password

Use the Forgot password link on the sign-in page. We email a one-time reset link to the address on your account. It works for a limited time, so use it promptly. If you did not request a reset, you can ignore the email and your password stays as it is.

If something looks wrong

  • An order you do not recognise: change your password and contact us straight away. The sooner we know, the more we can do, particularly while codes are still unredeemed.
  • A charge on your card you do not recognise: contact your bank and email us with the order number from the statement.
  • A suspicious message using our name: forward it to us, then delete it.

Checking out as a guest

You do not need an account to buy. If you check out as a guest, your codes are sent to the email address you enter, so check it carefully, and keep the confirmation email as your record of the order. An account gives you a permanent order history, so a lost email is never a lost code. Paying with points requires an account.
